Irene Yun-Lien LEE has been our director since August 2022. Irene is the executive chairman of Hysan Development Limited and serves as a member of the board of trustees of The Better Hong Kong Foundation. Irene was on the board of many listed and unlisted companies in Hong Kong, Singapore, UK and Australia. She was a member of the Australian Takeovers Panel, a member of the Advisory Council of JP Morgan Australia, and a member of the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. She was the independent non-executive chairman of Hang Seng Bank Limited, an independent non-executive director of CLP Holdings Limited, Cathay Pacific Airways Limited, Noble Group Limited, QBE Insurance Group, HSBC Holdings plc, The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, amongst others. Irene had a long career in financial services and held senior positions at Citibank in New York, London and Sydney. She was the global head of corporate finance at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and she held other senior positions in investment banking and funds management in a number of international financial institutions. Irene received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College, United States of America, and is a Barrister-at-Law in England and Wales and a member of the Honourable Society of Gray's Inn, United Kingdom. She was awarded the degree of Doctor of Social Science, honoris causa from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in November 2022.
